I have a strong teaching/facilitating practice in performance and academic spaces, alongside dramaturgy/outside eye work. Communication, collaboration and big-picture-thinking are important parts of all creative work I undertake! I perform much of my own work, as well as appearing in/co-creating other people’s projects. I am currently exploring a practice of writing folk tunes in the shapenote tradition, under the mentorship of some excellent singers and songwriters.&nbsp; Alan Fielden, Jemima Yong, Rachael Clerke, YESYESNONO, The Wardrobe Ensemble, Young In Hong, Yas Clarke, why this sky.&nbsp; Interests/ideas that make themselves known in my work: Networks, signs, signals, patterns, crisis, communication, urgency. Work, survival, collapse, breakdown. DIY, the analogue, the weird. Tenderness and bleakness in equal measure. A formal bit: I’ve made and shown my work with/at organisations including Battersea Arts Centre, Bristol Old Vic, Cambridge Junction, New Diorama,&nbsp; the Arnolfini, Warwick Arts Centre, Exeter Phoenix, The North Wall, Camden People’s Theatre &amp; The Yard. I’m a member of Interval Artist Collective in Bristol. I’ve taught and run workshops at places including Royal Central School of Speech &amp; Drama, Warwick University, Bedales School, and am currently a guest lecturer on The Wardrobe Ensemble’s theatre-making BA at Bristol School of Acting.&nbsp; We’ve been working together since 2016. We make contemporary pieces across performance and other mediums which investigate the anxieties and optimisms of the present. Our work collides disparate source materials to create collages of choreography, music, text and images.&nbsp;Over the last few years, we have presented and toured Ways of Knowing (2023), a choreographic collage of methods for predicting the future. It’s our third work for theatres, and won the Untapped Award 2025.&nbsp; We have made and shown two full-length shows - CELEBRATION (2016), which&nbsp; explored youth and optimism in a year of bizarre disaster; and Landscape (1989) (2018), a choreographic meditation on mushrooms, apocalypse, climate collapse, and life in the wilderness. Other short works, durational pieces, social practice projects and video works exist alongside these evening-length performances. Our working name as a duo gestures towards the potential energy that lies within crisis - a holding in balance of disaster and the opportunity for change. Rebecca Solnit says in Hope in the Dark: ‘Inside the word "emergency" is "emerge"; from an emergency new things come forth. This documentation is from a WIP performance in 2019 &amp; the show is currently in development with writer Eve Allin (CIVILISATION, Antler Theatre; Nettle Theatre). In a room of funhouse mirrors, watched by her reflections, Joan of Arc dies over and over again - in a fire, in history books, in categorisation.In myth she’s a teenager, a cross-dresser, a war hero, a heretic. In culture, she’s remade at the hands of whoever’s telling the story. We find a resonance between all these Joans: real, fictional, recorded, and lived, echoing across time. Sit with us. Be patient. We’ll exhume the myths and dig up the stories to find what’s underneath. Joan is a maid, a teenager, a warrior, a martyr. Now, she’s a celebrity, a ghost. Stay with us. It was the final show I was part of as a student, and is very close to my heart. A workman sweats onto birch wood. A troupe of actors forget what they're doing. People making it work through long days and short nights. Through a series of everyday choreographies, The Triumph of Our Tired Eyes explores themes of boredom, work, and time, widening out Chekhov’s play to include a personal dimension - our relationship to artistic labour.
